Last summer we had an afternoon workshop on making a stop motion animation Two groups of young people from Years 5 and 6 of Primary School created short films that they had devised and shot themselves. These were edited and shown at our family service.

St. George's Into Film Club for Young People

This led on to a more ambitious project where a group of twelve young people from the ages of 10 - 14 created a modern nativity story called 'This Way UP' to be shown at our Christingle service on the 24th December at 4.00pm. The young people were given opportunities to be involved in workshops on sound and sountrack, props and costumes, filming and lighting, and editing. The script was written from their ideas and they were involved in the process either in front of the camera or behind. A short film was made about the process of putting together this film and the premiere of the film was at the Christingle service on Christmas Eve.

St. George's Into Film Club is currently taking children from Years 5 to 9. If we have sufficient interest from older years we may consider running a senior club. If you are interested in joining please contact Revd. Canon Mandy Carr.
