We have a range of activities for all ages at the church including the following:

Cafe on the Green - A Place of Welcome

In view of the difficulties and isolation caused by the pandemic we have set up a 'Cafe on the Green' on a Tuesday morning in The Memorial Hall. It will be open every Tuesday from 10am to 12am. The Cafe serves tea, coffee and cake and provides an opportunity for anyone to come and have a chat in a welcoming environment. There will be opportunities to talk through any issues with which anyone is having difficulty and be signposted for further support if needed. We hope this will be something for the whole community, for both men and women and for all ages.

CAMEO

CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other) meet on the 2nd Monday afternoon each month with a range of speakers and a chance to catch up with new and old friends. 

 

 

Film Clubs

St. George's run a range of film clubs for showing films for all ages, including the Into Film Club and Golden Oldie Pictures (which is a Dementia friendly screening). We also show one-off films for the wider church family on occasions. 

 

Our 'Into Film Club' is run in association with Into Film who put film at the heart of the educational and personal development of children and young people across the UK. Through this film club we are working with children and young people to explore the medium of film making. 

Home Groups

St. George's doesnt have weekly home groups but we have home group series at different times of the year e.g. lent, and between Easter and summer. At these times our home groups meet either in people's houses to study, share and pray with each other or virtually online. If you are interested in joining a house group please contact the Church Administrator.

Mornings@TheWell

St George's has recently started a series called Mornings@TheWell, which will be restarting in early 2024. For information about Mornings@TheWell and to book a place please click here.

Teddies

Teddies is a group for babies, toddlers and pre-school children and their carers. It is run on a Friday morning in the church rooms from 9.15 to 10.45am.

 

Come along on Friday 15th December for the Christmas Special! 

Other Social Activities

St. George's have a variety of social activities that take place throughout the year; these include on Shrove Tuesday, at Harvest and at Christmas. These events are often linked to fundraising for our ongoing outreach and mission partners. A highlight of the year is also the Safari Supper which is held in the village in May each year. More information will be added to the website as the events are being planned.
